A Most Violent Year - 8.5/10

I felt the ending a bit uneventful, but overall it was still a great movie.

Lawrence of Arabia - 8/10
A bit much to digest, but an experience worth having nonetheless.

The 7th Voyage of Sinbad - 6/10
Fun, but far from my favorite Harryhausen flick.

Goodnight Mommy ("I see, I see" in its original language)

This is a very good horror movie. I recommend it if you want to be horrified.

Turbo Kid and Kill Bill Vol. 1

Turbo Kid is a pretty great post-apocalyptic coming of age story that's kind of a tribute to 80's films while also basically being Mad Max with bicycles.

And I hadn't seen Kill Bill in a long time. It's just good as ever. I should watch Vol. 2 next week.

R100 - 6/10

A really interesting and dramatic premise that unfortunately descends into unbridled lunacy and silliness.
*sigh* What the fuck Japan? What the fuck?

Avengers: Age of Ultron - 8/10

Still not perfect, but far more enjoyable than it was to me upon the first viewing.
really really liked it.

"Midnight in Paris"

Caught this on television last night, and missed the start, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. Biggest problem I have is with Rachel McAdam's character, who is so completely wrong for Owen Wilson you wonder how the two could even have ended up together.

an interesting watch, and an interesting read about the production of the film.

The latest episode of Star Wars in 3d.

Nifty film. Those 2 1/4 hours went by pretty fast. Humour, action, nostalgia and eye-candy all in one pretty package.

Woooah! I love that movie.
But of course, that's no secret around here.

I saw Trumbo and Concussion recently.
Both good, but Trumbo was more fun.
Both are between a 7 and 8 out of 10.

Watched Extreme Justice (1993) and Run (1991) last.
Some good 90's action all around.

Extreme Justice is a decent thriller about the dangers of police power sans oversight. It's a bit too simple and undemanding to its own detriment, but it still sizzles with Michael Mann efficiency and Verhoeven-esque amounts of bloody violence. LDP stars alongside his epic head of hair and Scott Glenn. 3.5/5

Run is a breakneck chase flick that deserves an accomplished cult status if nothing else. It's slick and thoroughly entertaining, which stars a young and dorky Patrick Dempsey and the gorgeous Kelly Preston. Also has one of the coolest bad guy deaths of 90's action cinema. 4/5

The Dark Crystal - 9/10

Unlike Labyrinth, this is actually a real gem of the fantasy genre.

You would never think "beauty" and "puppets" would go together in a sentence... until you saw this movie.

Yeah that 3 minute scene of the bad guys doing nothing but eating was real beautiful.

Man of Steel. Was not in the mood for it, especially not after how much it was on in the house when my mom was still around, I could've gone another decade without a rewatch, but, I ended up enjoying it as usual. Michael Shannon still the goat.
