I have my fingers crossed for this one. Not much faith in it, though... but if this fails, I'm afraid Snyder won't be directing blockbusters for quite some time...

This seems right up Snyder's alley, if this actually fails, then by god he must've been on crack while directing !

Yeah, I mean, whenever my enthusiasm for this movie wanes, I just remember that Zack Snyder is directing it.

AND mo-cap and digital animation masters at Weta Digital doing the key fx scenes... that also gives me lil' thrills. Zack must be having a ball working with those guys!

I think it's interesting how they decided to darken the blue and brighten the red compared to the Returns suit, I think it's a good decision, and really sets the 2 suits apart, I think the dark red and bright blue clashed more than bright red and dark blue. and I definitely agree about the cosplay comment, the neckline alone makes the MoS suit look better.

I love the look of the suit. I was sold from the first stills though. This does little else for me than provide a new angle.
Also,

Some idiot I know said

"Since when is Clark Kent british? This is almost as offending as the racebending in Avatar. They already racebending the shit out of that! Why can't they keep Superman american!"

and my friend said

"...Superman is kryptonian. Not american."

and the guy said

"Okay there, then they should find a Kryptonian actor to play him."

We later found out, the guy knows NOTHING about superman. Never seen any of the movies either.
Didn't even know who Jor El was.
Ugh. Fml.

I don't know, there's something about the lack of information that makes me expect the worse out of this!
Or maybe I just want this to fail so Snyder can get back to zombie flicks...

...Go ahead, slap me.

when i look at returns suit i just get that vibe of weakness and singer's superman in returns reflected that

returns suit had

tiny s
neck line all the way up to his throat like a t shirt
not as physically muscular
cheap spandex material
short cape

while MOS Suit

has a huge powerful S
low neck line like the comics
very grounded realistic chain-mail like material
royal looking long flowing cape
cavill is probably the most physically imposing superman to date

the new suit just gives off a powerful vibe that superman should have

It's good strategy to shut the hell up and make the movie right now. It both builds the suspense, and allows TDKR to have it's deserved day in the sun.... no point battling a tidal wave of that magnitude. I'm sure they have a plan. There may well come a time, as with TDKR, where we are wishing the spoiler-y teasers and fragments would go away.

Hans Zimmer scoring 'Man of Steel'
Quote:
Hans Zimmer, who worked on all three films in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, is set to reteam with the filmmaker once again, as Warner Bros. and director Zack Snyder have tapped him to score their Superman pic "Man of Steel."

Legendary Pictures and Atlas Entertainment produced the superhero tentpole with Syncopy, Cruel & Unusual Films and DC Entertainment.

In addition to "Batman Begins," "The Dark Knight" and this summer's "The Dark Knight Rises," Zimmer worked with Nolan on "Inception," for which he received an Oscar nomination. He has been nominated for nine Oscars and previously won for Disney's "The Lion King."

John Williams was nominated for an Oscar for creating the iconic theme to Richard Donner's original "Superman" in 1978.

"Man of Steel" will mark the first Snyder-directed pic on which the helmer hasn't worked with composer Tyler Bates, who scored "Dawn of the Dead," "300," "Watchmen" and "Sucker Punch."

"Man of Steel," which hits theaters on June 14, 2013, stars Henry Cavill as the titular superhero, while the rest of the cast includes Russell Crowe, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue and Christopher Meloni.

Zimmer is repped by WME.

^ Great, GREAT news.
Not because I hail Zimmer over every other composer (his stuff is either very good or terribly mediocre IMO), but because this will move Zack out of his comfort zone. Now that he's working with a respected composer, and not with a friend of his, maybe he'll step back from turning Man of Steel into another videoclip festival. I really hated what he and Tyler Bates did with Watchmen overall.
And yes, to me the score really is crucial for the movie. I'm really excited right now to see what will come out of this movie. I demand a trailer to be shown with TDKR!

If Zimmer just copies John Williams' score, I think we'll all be able to rest easy.

Let's be honest, THIS is the Superman theme (and nothing else can ever replace it).

This film is a year away. I hope there are no trailers till early next year. Getting sick of hype-fests, teasers, leaked photos and mis-managed promotion surrounding every major movie these days.

We're getting a teaser with TDKRises this summer. Bank on it.
