So you're arguing that this isn't going to be more realistic than other Superman movies? You're arguing that even though Zack Snyder pretty much said that and Christopher Nolan is helping to make it as well?
Good luck with that.
I honestly think that Snyder is playing to the tunes that the WB execs want him to, and that Nolan´s involvement is minimal. His name is there to give credibility(I may not like some aspects of his Batman movies, but I cannot deny that he´s the men that brought Batman from the dead, cinematically speaking) since Zack is still "the guy that made 300", and maybe his name can bring some of the his and his Batman fans over.
That being said, in one Superman movie you saw Supes becoming somekind of big brother and disposed of all nukes in the world, and in the other, it was actively discussed the necessity of Supes.
Could such situations have been better dealt then those movies did?Yes, but it´s no diferent from what I´m seeing, where he is surrendering himself to the world and seeking acceptance.
Honestly, realistic is a word that doesn´t really apply to Supes.Mister Pain said it all, they need to go for epic, and try to achive a good mix of drama and light-heartedness.

Well, it looks more realistic, just aesthetically, from any other Superman movie. And Zack Snyder also specifically said that he wanted to make it like if Superman really existed in the real world. So I'd say they're shooting for more realistic.
What, the bit where Superman is being hauled as a criminal? That´s social relevance. Even Donner´s and Singer´s movies had that.

I remember saying that Reese was a significant loose end on TDK, but I can´t really see your point right now.
Some help?
