i really want to see what singer does with x men on an actual great budget

he was only given 70 million for x1

and 110 million for x2

Well, he was the first one that had a crack at the 210 million X3 cost. But I guess "remaking" one of your favorites movies with 270 million in spending money is better...

But hey, First Class cost 160. My guess is that he´s gonna get pretty much the same or a little more. I´m expecting pretty much the same in terms of spectacle(or less since I see Synger as more of thinker, with not as much flair visually).

I have a distinct urge to put this in the classic posts section. It's t3cii...just saying "Richard Gere sucks!"

I suppose I should elaborate. It's not that I have some personal dislike against Gere, the way some actors just rub some people the wrong way. But RuiBK's suggestion that he play Magneto is so far out of left field that it seemed the only appropriate response. I think Gere might be the most mediocre actor working in movies. I can't think of another actor who is so consistently unremarkable. Even at his best, he's merely adequate.

Huge Ackman was awesome in these movies.

I'm kind of meh on this film, I wasn't in love with First Class, and I'm not a huge X-Men fan in general, but I will say that I'm pleased that it finally looks like a non-Marvel studio is giving a damn about their Marvel movies.

why not? they had a prison camp and several deaths in the first film, and sentinels appeared in the last stand. the only question is will singer make wolverine the main focus again?

You know Fox has hired Mark Millar to be creative consultant on all future Marvel movies right? I don't doubt that he will try to convince Fox that these things are important. they wouldn't have hired him if they weren't going to respect his opinion.

They needed to set-up Magneto as an Holocaust survivor, to not make him some one-dimensional villain. Mutant concentration camps, whole diferent thing considering Singer´s tendency to underplay the comic-booky concepts.

X1 killed villains, and X2 didn´t kill Jean considering Singer´s plans for X3.X3 had more deaths of main character but was it better for that?

As to the sentinels, if you consider that appearing, ok...

I remeber the days where they employed Marvel guys, and how Avi Arad had jackshit authority and just cashed in the checks. Millar wants more of his properties yo get to the big screen, so do you think he´s gonna go Edward Norton on Fox if they pull some bullshit moves? I can be wrong, but I think not.

If they were real about shared universes, an FF reboot and X4 would be on their way...

I was warming up to Vaugh and the rest of the guys, and now we go back to the older bullshit...

I think my english probably betrayed me, because I said that. He showed his powers in a concentration camp in X1, he showed his prisioner number as argument against registration, and First class is all about hunting a former member of the nazi machine.

alright, pump your brakes... it's a two issue arc that is cool, but not the greatest ever.

All signs point to this film being a collision of the post-X3 timeline with the First Class timeline, resulting in a completely new continuity/franchise reboot.
