Will this be X4 with a different name?Because it seems like that...

All signs point to this film being a collision of the post-X3 timeline with the First Class timeline, resulting in a completely new continuity/franchise reboot.

Yeah, I think that is the most plausible theory at this point too,

A part of me was hoping for X4, but now I see that this isn´t a reboot or a new continuity. First Class continuity will probably reign supreme, wih Jackman and Page probably getting a big role, while the rest of the guys appear in flashbacks or at the very beggining to set up the stakes(imagine the Danger Room sequence in 3 being real and in full glory).
But then again, I hope that I´m wrong...

But now that I think about it, what about Gambit and Colossus?

This is the best you will get:

Thank Singer for the "tactical" look he created in X1 and X2.That and Paquin hasn´t changed that much. It´s just her role in True Blood that makes us look at her in a diferent way then our perception of Rogue.

Because failthfulness to the comics was a cornerstone of Singer´s work on X-Men and Superman...

Like I said, here´s hoping Singer suprises/impresses me.

singer was pretty faithful to god loves man kills i do like singer's approach to the x men films it is same approach nolan did with batman films where the acknowledge and are faithful so several elements of several stories but also bring their own original take and voice to the stories

Brian Singer Talks DOFP in Empire Magazine
Quote:
"It's epic. We get to bring both casts together. We've cracked it in a way that makes sense. I had a two-hour conversation with James Cameron about time travel, string theory, multiverses and all that. You have to create your rules and stick with them. That's what makes Terminator and Back To The Future work so well. And there are certain mechanisms in X-Men, certain powers, perceptions and characters, that make this possible. More than any of the movies I've made, it comes to me much more quickly than on other films. With Superman Returns I struggled a lot. I guess it's either my history with the X-Men universe or I have some kind of knack for this particular story."

Quote:
"It has a lot of aspects of the comic. The actual comic of Days Of Future Past had a whole ton of stuff going on, so it’s like any of these things; you have to distill it. But I think the fans will be pleased that some of the most exciting parts of Days Of Future Past are going to be connected to this movie."

We also asked how much attention he's paying to the other X-movies, which have at this point created a somewhat tangled chronological web. "I’m taking into account every movie – I’m not just grabbing my first two movies and First Class and smashing them together. I’m taking into account the entire universe as it’s been laid out so far on the screen, and really respecting it and trying to work with that. People took things in various directions, so there’s some clean-up. But ultimately I’m not just ignoring them either."

I have zero idea who he'll play though... all I can think of is Puck, but I doubt they would consider Puck a key role.

Who else is there that fits his physical features? It's not like he has a distinct enough voice to just voice over something.

My first guess is that it's probably a new character, someone written for this movie, similar to William Striker in X2, who was clearly different from the one in the comics.

having googled, i found that the only other dwarf-stature character in the x-men lore is a character called White Dwarf.
