Looking forward to this... gonna start the book later this week. Apparently the narrative is far from conventional, with a series of interrupted stories spanning centuries, with only the last one fully told.

I'm also liking their strategy of having viewings for festivals, screenings for reviewers etc, without vomting trailers everywhere left right n' centre. Refreshing.

Sounds really interesting, maybe I'll pick up the book sometime soon.

^ The video's been removed, unfortunately. Was it a trailer?

A cerebral period/sci-fi R rated movie that is 2h 45m long, directed by someone known for slo-mo and "stlyish" movies? sounds familiar! I hope it doesn't bomb, Tom Hanks hasn't been in a good movie in AGES, neither has Halle Berry come to think of it.

Is there any chance this won't be terrible?

Three directors. It took three directors to make this movie. Wow.

After seeing the trailer, I'm guessing that this is going to be sort of like 2012's Tree of Life: It's going to sharply divide audiences between those who think it's a revolutionary step forward in the medium of film, and those who think it's a hugely ambitious clusterfuck.

I was thinking 2012's The Fountain.

Well of course it will. I don't think the Wachowski Siblings would be doing their jobs right if they didn't end up pissing someone off.

On the film: It's absolutely gorgeous; and while I know a good trailer doesn't always equal a good movie, it pretty much insured that I'll be seeing this in a theater.

@T3cii

MAN, DEY YOU GO HATIN AND SHIT AGAIN. SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII-ET!!!

edit: Seen the trailer a couple more times. If anything, this certainly is in the running for one of the greatest trailers ever produced. It's a like watching a short film.

There's people out there that didn't like The Tree Of Life ?

Why are they still alive ?

Honestly, I become less and less a fan the more I think about it.

And this is coming from the guy who loves Eraserhead and Beyond the Black Rainbow.

It seems more pretentious than meaningful the more I think about it.

Dat's why.

You might even say it's like we've seen the entire movie.

You might even say it's like we've seen the entire movie.

Or...you might say it's nothing like that at all.

If, y'know, you want to be accurate. If you're into that sort of thing.

Is what I said really offensive? Normally when you have an almost six minute trailer, people often feel like they've been shown the entire movie. This is a pretty common thing to say.

Y'know.
