Deadline reports that director John M. Chu has entered talks to direct a live action adaptation of Masters Of The Universe for Sony Pictures and Escape Artists. He is currently hard at work on the 3D conversion of his latest picture, G.I. Joe: Retaliation. That film was originally set to be released last month before being pushed back to March 29th, 2013. The site reports that it will revolve around, "He-Man, a prince who transforms into a warrior and becomes the last hope for a magical world that has been ravaged by the sinister Skeletor." Alex Litvak (The Three Musketeers) and Mike Finch (Exclusively Yours penned the script under the title Grayskull, although Mattel - the toy company who own the brand that the film will be based on - are now said to be revising it.

I'll reserve my judgment on this until GI Joe: Retaliation comes out. Too many factors about this movie depend on how that movie does at the box office.

I was hoping something like this would be coming along, but now that I see who's attached to it I'm probably gonna skip it. I'll wait for GI Joe first because that actually looks good.

Jason Momoa, hey, he was pretty good in Game Of Thrones. He's a good bet for it actually, most likely quite happy to roam the cinematic wasteland of B-movie sword n' sorcery.

Jason Mamoa would never be cast as He-man, He-man is iconically blonde, and I don't think Mamoa could pull off blonde.

soooo...?
Hercules doesn't have an iconic look, and as far as I know he's only blonde in the Disney movie.
