Empire were very enthusiastic about this series in their blog the other day, so I picked it up.
I'm up to Chapter 4 of the first book. Fantastically charming. Any fans?

I read the first one at my local library. Yeah, it's a charming book. Funny and clever. Although I find they're almost impossible to find at local bookstores. Saw a bunch at one bookstore, then the next week they were all off the shelves. It's a series I'd like to get into, though.

I've also been following the film production, which I believe is currently under way. I'm not sure if Michael Cera is up to the challenge of playing Scott as the character is so different from what he normally plays.

I think a big part of the appeal to me is that it takes place in my home town. I get a kick out of seeing the many real world locations used in the series. I remember laughing out loud seeing "FINCH" written in tiny letters on the front of a subway train, as that's a train I regularly use. It's just funny seeing a cartoon version of it. You should check out O'Malley's Annotated Scott Pilgrim on line!

Also, just found this a week ago. It's the song the book gets its name from, "Scott Pilgrim" by the now defunct Plumtree:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sb3TWNzMSr0

I just got the first book a short time ago but haven't had a chance to read it yet. I've heard great things about it.

I've loved all 4 Books yet, I have yet to go grab book #5. I'm kicking myself over it.

And I can't wait to see how Edgar Wright does the movie. I absolutely loved Shaun of The Dead and ESPECIALLY Hot Fuzz.

Speaking of Wright, if you're at all interested in the movie, you should check out his myspace page. Every day he updates it with a new photo. I believe the production is under way.

I absolutely love the scott pilgrim series, truly some remarkable stuff, i guess the real reason why i like it is cause the creator is from where i am from and what's even cooler is that they're filming the movie right now and every so often i will see cameras sets and stuff on the streets of toronto, unfortunately i have not seen the actors like Michael Ceara etc.

I think they're filming mostly interior stuff at the moment. It would be cool to walk down the street and see something, though.

From Edgar Wright's website

And I'm pretty confident that it at least is him. Some of the photos on the site are of stand ins.

Yep. Looks like Neil, Kim, Scott and her. And it looks like Scott is wearing an Astro Boy shirt.

In one of the photos of the extras, someone pointed out that they were all wearing sneakers indoors. This is of course a big no-no as Torontonians take their shoes off when at someones house/apartment.

Yeah, I'm way too picky :)

Maybe....still, I always find it weird when on American tv, people are seen sitting on their beds with shoes on, or in the living room where there is carpet. Although I guess it's just too much to show someone leave a friends house, then make awkward conversation at the door as they try to get their shoes back on while standing up. :)

or maybe they got the shot of them taking their shoes off and they are now filming from a different angle, letting the actors put on their shoes, i mean come on their in a wear-house so the floor is probably cement and its cold.
