Maybe this is a bad sign for the Watchmen game or that I just have too little interest in it, but I actually found the link on the right side about their making a game based on Dante's Inferno a lot more intriguing. I'm half-expecting the final battle to be Dante avoiding being eaten by any of Satan's three mouths, unless I have the order of The Divine Comedy wrong.

Anyway, I love it how Nite-Owl's special move 13/4 seconds into the trailer is an imitation of Michael Jackson. At least they got the era somewhat-correct, especially with professional wrestler Dan. Oh dear, odd image in my head now: Michael Jackson as a professional wrestler. Moving on . . .

New trailer:

Edit: turns out it's not a new trailer at all...just a download of the Spike one...
And it still looks crap.

I would think being a fan of 'Watchmen' would ensure you'd never buy this game... what a stalemate!
The only thing that could get me interested is a 'Minutemen' level. Or some crazy-ass 2-person fighter game where you could pit heroes (and villains) from every era against eachother. Watchmen Smackdown!

Sounds like I'm the only one optimistic about this then. I think the graphics look much better than they're getting credit for here, and I do quite like the style of the game. Ok, the logo is horrible and I don't understand the jonergy from Nite Owl at all, but I think from what we've seen so far it's going to do exactly what it says on the tin: let people beat guys up as Rorshach and Dan.

To be honest, I'm much more looking forward to the cell phone game, because I loved streets of rage and golden axe(obviously), but there's a lot of negativity around TEIN, and I think it's just meant to be a light-hearted bit of fun. At the very least, we can all be thankful that it's not the standard movie game tie in that totally destroys the content of the film.

Btw, it is just me or does it seem from the trailer like Rorshach has had some prior experience inside prisons?

I thought that the only game being made was some dumb cell phone game, and I'm kinda glad that there's going to be a downloadable version. Just the only thing that I'm peeved about now is that it's on everything but the Wii. Episodic downloadable games are so addictive and work so well on the Wii, just look at the Strong Bad games!

I don't know that I'd want a Watchmen point-and-click adventure.
Though it'd be nice if they released the cell phone game for Wii Ware. I mean, I'm SURE the Wii could handle cell phone technology. And to be honest, it looks better than TEIN.

This game is gonna be pretty fun to play, although it won't be amazingly good. I just can't wait to sit back, relax, and beat the shit out of knot-tops as Rorschach.

I imagine Rorschach as the dirtiest of dirty fighters.

The threw pepper in a dude's face! Come on!

Yeah, but wouldn't the 'nutcracker' seem more like a (forgive me) woman's move? That was one of the first self-defense moves I learned when I took a women's self-defense class in HS.

Where the hell do you get "jonergy"? You know, Dr. Manhattan isn't the only thing in the Watchmen universe capable of creating energy. There's also this thing called "electricity". Nite Owl's suit can be electrified. Cool little gadget I guess.

Wow, someone needs to calm down. I had no idea I'd personally offended you. I said that because a) the only time I've seen "energy" like that in Watchmen, it's from the big blue guy b) if it wasn't anything to do with that and it was electricity, then just replace these words. Here it is:

"I don't understand the electricity from Nite Owl at all".

Quote:
Nite Owl's suit can be electrified.

Well, first I've heard of it. I'm assuming it's the first anyone here has heard of it, aside from you apparently as you're stating it as fact. That's why i raised it in the first place.

I wasn't thinking point and click, I was thinking the same game style as the PC, PS3, and 360 versions, but still... That actually isn't a bad idea for part of Rorschach's part of the game, I mean you could go up into Blake's apartment and poke around with a mouse pointer, looking for clues. Then you could wander the streets and bars selecting the right people to intimidate for information, sandwiched together by some nice beat 'em up action.

Rorschach detective work + point and click adventure game = possible win.

I'm only interested in it for the story. I'm not expecting to be blown away by how the game handles.

New interview with Dave Gibbons about the game, Alan Moore, merchandise and the film's ending.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/watch ... -interview

P.S. This thread really should be moved...

When GTA IV comes out for PC, there will inevitably be a Rorschach fan skin to download and I will wonder the streets at night punching people I will pretend are knot tops.

And I will play this game, too.

Im glad theres not so many complainers, yelling and spazzing about "dis game will mess everything!!!111"

I cant wait for this game. It's a cool thing to be able to play as your favorite characters, especially in beat em up form. And WHEN has their been a bad beat em up based on a comic book turhed into a movie, save for Batman Forever, but Akklaim were idiots.

Someone should make a Watchmen Max Payne 2 mode. Change the Cleaners into the Knot Tops, Change Max into either Rorschach or Comedian, and Mona into Laurie. Maybe make a level of Karnak for Dead Man Walking. Hell, they really made a conversion with the Equilibrium mod.

For the quit game options:
Comprimise, never. Not even in the face of Armageddon-No
I did it 35 minutes ago- yes

I really don't want to play this game because it doesn't look good at all, but I will because I'm a tool.
