Got me my new Rorschach stencil tattoo done this afternoon (as per my avatar) on my upper left arm.

Taken as soon as it was finished - the tattooist only went and cut off the top of the hat in the pic though!

Image
Matt, who did this one for me at Tattoo U 2 (Justin was off sick) took another pic of it for his "Wall of Fame".

Now everyone who gets ink there will be faced with the question "Who Watches The Watchmen?" :D

Oh man that tattoo is sick! Is that supposed to be latin? I thought "who watched the watchmen" in latin was Quisnam vigilo custodis?

Thanks :D It's translated "Who Watches the Watchmen" (correctly it's literally "who will watch/guard the watchmen/guardians") and the Latin on the tattoo is indeed correct. Juvenal is not wrong ;)

"Quisnam vigilo custodis?" is literally "who then will be a vigilant guard/watchman?" - singular, and doesn't carry the weight of meaning that the Juvenal quote does.

Hehe I love the international timezones :)

What have you decided to get done, or are you keeping it a surprise?

As planned, I dragged my extremely hungover self to the tattooists yesterday morning and emerged with this little beauty on my right wrist :)

At the end of the month I'll be booking the appointment for my next one.

Totally, absolutely, completely love this. It's exactly what I'm going to be getting, probably as a 21st birthday present to myself. ;]

Did you just take the image in and show them what you wanted? I confess I've not gotten a tattoo before, so any information would be great.

I don't have a tat, but I went with a friend before while he got his. I don't remember whether he made an appointment or spoke with them at all beforehand, but he did just bring in the image and they did the rest. :)

Sweet :]
I'm doing some research before I get this done, and it'll probably be second priority to the one I'm getting behind my right shoulder (this one), but I'm still definitely planning on getting it.

I took the design in and made an appointment. Tattooists usually have to put the design on special transfer paper, which allows it to be applied to where you want it on your body. The tattooist will then ink directly onto the design, thus nullifying any chance of mistakes.

Well, good tattooists will do that anyway :)

My friend has the smiley logo on his calf. I was thinking of getting the Gimp Mask, the logo, or some Comedian related.
