So , this site has been around a while and we have a shitload of content...

but, what are we missing? Are there any glaring omissions that need to be filled?

Let me know.

I went and changed the thread title to something more descriptive of the topic.

Right now, we're in a great position to start generating content for the site. We just need something to write.

So what's left? What are we missing? What do you want or need that hasn't been included yet?

If you want Watchmen porn, go to DeviantArt or something.

Will you update the wallpapers page with the new ones from the official movie site? It would be nice to have all of those in one place. Im still thinking, but youve got a great site as it is. Thanks.

Yeah, the site is pretty perfect as it is...
Only thing I can think of right now is an page-by-page annotation...
Perhaps it's worth contacting the guy who made the existing one and asking if you could host it here?

How about a (moderated, of course) guestbook, so that people can leave messages or thoughts without having to get a forum account. It could be a wall where people scrawled Watchmenesque graffiti. It could include whatever symbols seem similar or partially linked to relevant material in the book, but which don't have enough importance to merit a post in the threads. This could suit, uh, eccentric fans, and also bring in people who don't feel like posting regularly.

Personally, I don't understand why people just can't type "porn." Or, as another example, "pwned." That's not a word.

Personally, I don't understand why you'd care.

I think of it as a substitute for that.

My apologies if this has been brought up another thread, but what about a simple feature where information--either on the main site or the forum--can also be designated according to categories? I'm not sure how that would work with old information (unless you had people who would volunteer to do that), but it might help organize the loads of information.

The search and archive features are good, but I wonder if this would be a possible way to also catalog the information. I remember it being brought up on another forum about new threads cropping up on topics that have been addressed already, and I wonder if having categories would help in archiving things, too.

It's a feature I've seen work pretty well on blogs with tags and such. Might work alongside the search feature if people are able to see specific categories of posts or news items. I guess that'd mean subcategories for each board.

As I type this, it just keeps soundings like a lot of work . . .

I remember it being brought up on another forum about new threads cropping up on topics that have been addressed already, and I wonder if having categories would help in archiving things, too.

The related article links at the bottom of each article was designed to do this, but my categorization of related articles was very broad. I just narrowed the categories so that the related articles would display more closely related articles. Here's what I did.

The original categories were...

- Production
- Cast
- Crew
- Other

Pretty weak and too generic, I'll admit. Now, I've set it up into these categories...

- Production
- Cast
- Crew
- Merchandise (articles used to be part of Other)
- Interviews (articles used to be part of Cast or Crew)
- Legal (articles used to be part of Production)
- Other

So, what's nice now is if your in an article that deals with the lawsuit, all of the related articles listed will also be lawsuit or legal related.

If you have any ideas on other categories, let me know.

Hope this helps.

Perhaps "Merchandise" could be expanded to Spin-off stuff...including the video game, ToBF, Under the Hood etc...

But the improvement is noticeable - good stuff DDC...

It does. Merch includes anything you can buy that is Watchmen related including the video game, books, DVDs, etc.
