im a pirate who rarely takes on a whole album!
like right now in the past 30 minutes i've been raping my ears with my new speakers, going through Scooter, Gaga, Tech N9ne, Simon & Garfunkel, Public Enemy, and Guns n' Roses...
i have music ADHD.
i never do whole albums.

Dude, you are missing out a lot of things. The Wall, for example.

no no, if its something like The Wall,
well then
duh.

but i dont consider that casual listening.
Im like a person who cant sit through a 2 hour movie.
But only with music.
So said person may LOVE LOTR even tho its uber long, it may be the exception.
There are certain albums i'll listen through ALL the way, AND love it.

but on a regular basis... im Musically ADHD.
Its not my fault really, i've always been that way.

Yeah, i never listen to one album beginning to end, unless it's vinyl, I've got to get my un-mainstream vinyl habits fed *sips PBR and agrees with NO about how manstream comics are too mainstream*

Hey, I don't listen to albums anymore either. Unless you're a big music freak, once you hit a certain age, music is no longer a big priority, and you stop actively trying to find new music. I find I'm listening to music from my high school days, and older. I don't even remember what the last album I bought was. And since music is so easily available online, I find I only want to search for the songs I like. Sure, I may be missing out on some great albums, but I'm not missing out on those filler songs, songs I would otherwise skip.

I'll listen to the whole album if it's a soundtrack. Movie soundtracks really need to be whole.

Any other time, I'll just stick with individual songs. I'd much rather just get the one or two good songs from an album than get them bundled with all the tracks I can do without.

Sex. Daft Punk has outdone themselves, I figured the soundtrack was going to be good but it was better than I originally thought. I don't care what the reviews are saying, I'll go see this to hear the soundtrack.

^ Just got done writing a blog entry on that.

I agree that it's totally brilliant, but I've been listening to it for so long without a break that I don't think I'll be able to hear it again for quite a while.

ETA: In all seriousness, I really do hope that Daft Punk gets an Oscar nomination for that score. Not just because they deserve it, but because I think it would be hilarious to see them wear those robot helmets to the Kodak Theater.

I came across the band Joy Division for the first time about 2 months ago and was instantly hooked! Anyone else a fan? I'll admit that i've never listened to any entire album of there's, only listened to a few individual songs.

Love will tear us apart, shadowplay, and transmission are three songs that get played often in my ipod.
