It's normal. Some of my most recent dreams also involve girls that I failed to get involved in relationships with.

I don't think you're a joke. But anytime you mention her, I grimace a bit, and think "aw dude, still?". Have you tried to contact her? As bad an idea as that might sound, at least you would get it out of your system, and it might make it easier for you to move on. Actually, how did you two first get together, anyway? I remember there was some sort of banter going on between you two when she first started posting, then one day you posted a pic of the two of you together. Was it mostly an online thing? How deep was the relationship. Sorry to pry, but I wonder if maybe in your mind you're making the relationship to be bigger than it actually was? Like maybe you think she could have been "the one"? I dunno, I'm terrible at giving out advice, but maybe you should try to look at your relationship from an outsider's perspective?

That's understandable. Whenever she pops into my head, I essentially have the same reaction.

Well, I left her a private facebook message a few weeks ago. I don't think she'll ever get back to me, though.

Well, originally there was the forum banter. Then we quickly became friends on facebook and started chatting there. This is condensed, but we talked practically every day for almost a year and then decided to meet up eventually. Originally, I had invited her to come to Comic-Con with me, but when that fell through, we decided that we wanted to meet for the sake of meeting itself so I went to Tennessee with her. We were in a relationship for three months after that until she decided she couldn't do the long distance thing anymore. Then several months after that is when we stopped talking.

I'm not. As sad as this might sound, I can confidently say that we were the most significant romantic relationships in each others' lives up to that point. Still, even, as far as I know. And there's no doubt we had ever had a better friend of the opposite sex.

Oh these stupid dreams. I dreamt that my mom yelled at me for wanting to talk to Sierra again. I wonder what Freud would say about that. Then I dreamt that I contacted Sierra through Skype anyway and she didn't seem too bothered about it, almost like she enjoyed my company. My internet failed and I couldn't get her back, though. And I woke up. And then I knew she wasn't my Sierra. My Sierra hates me now.

I'm pretty pathetic. I'm essentially a joke on this forum at this point as that guy who could never get over his internet girlfriend and I'm a joke to myself for the same reason. Even when I block her out of my conscious and waking mind, though, she always finds her way in someway else.

Oh dude. =/
You're not a joke to us.
What you're going through is relatable. I'm sure every guy here has had a situation like this. Or maybe I just speak for myself, idk. But you're not a joke, and we're here for you bro.
If there was a handbook on this kind of stuff, under the right chapter, section and subsection, the only single entry would be: "This shit ain't easy."

Everyone has ideas on how to handle it but sometimes I know that for all the solutions everyone is offering, someone just acknowledging that indeed it's not easy, and that you're not a joke, to empathize essentially, can be worth just as much. Hang in there man.

I had some pretty odd dreams but fun dreams last night.

One of them was that I was at school and for some reason, the only way I could get to a class was by driving a bike. So I drove it but this friend of mine started cursing at me for no good reason and later I met up with other friends of mine and told them about what had happened and they agreed the guy was a dick.

So yeah, that wasn't the most exciting dream. But the coolest one and I think it may have been inspired by all this talk about the screenwriters getting hired for Star Wars, was that I dreamt that I got a call from Disney regarding a script I had sent to them a long time ago, and that they wanted me to write something. But then I woke up. :(

So I did tell you a guys a while back, but remember that girl Jo I had a big crush on? To those of you who don't know the story, well, she totally disappeared but very recently it came to my attention that she had been arrested for drug possession, and the reason for her disappearance involves her being in jail or in rehab or something else completely different, without any possibility of when she might return. So I just decided to let her go.

Anyway, when I met her, "The People's Key" by Bright Eyes had just come out and I was listening to that album a lot. Last night, before going to bed, I listened to the album again. I had this dream I was over at her house and an ex of hers was there, and we were talking about random things. We got to the topic of her arrest and she said it wasn't drugs, but something very stupid. The cops had stopped her because she had bought some illegal paint of some sort, and she had been drinking that night, so with those two offenses combined, she was sent to jail.

I have to say, it felt very nice to have her "back" and to learn that the drug thing was some random BS thing invented by her friends. But alas, even though I only have the word of other people to go to prove she had been arrested because of drug possession, there are no signs at all of her return and knowing the shit reality I have to deal with everyday in my town, the drug arrest was true.

Last night I dreamed that I was reading the collected WCM Forum Member Quotes. It was a smallish book that seemed to be a series of transcripts taken from those facebook skype sessions some of you guys do. So on the first page of each session, in bold, would be a list of the participants, followed by the transcript. So you'd have something like:

Malik: Hey guys!
Oscar: Hey!
RJ: What's up, brah?

I briefly wondered what it was you guys all did that justified having a collection of your transcribed skype sessions. Then I woke up.

Maybe like in Cloud Atlas, someday our seemingly unimportant conversations will end up changing the world and we will get religions started after us. See, t3cii, join the chats, save the world.

No, the impression that I got was more funny anecdotes, not particularly deep conversation.

Maybe it will be like the Train Man/Densha Otoko story in Japan. Basically the whole Women thread could already be a situation like that in progress. :P
