Every one saying that "well the Joker would use this gas or that tool"

rule 6 is not "only weapons they brought" it's "no weapons" therefore it's the Joker's fists and legs vs. rorschach's fists and legs and does anyone think the Joker would be skilled enough to just beat rorschach?

I love the Joker, he's one of my favorite villains, but he's not a fighter, he's a trickster. He uses gases and tools and that's how he can go up against Batman, but once Batman gets through that he teaches the Joker the definition of new asshole. But in our arena weapons are a no-no, so he's just a scrawny guy in a tacky purple suit up against a psycho who can break a toilet with one kick.

Also, if the fighters know about each other pre fight, then Rorschach would have an added vendetta against a cold blooded killer who must be punished.

You misread the rule, Dr. Brooklyn. I meant it to mean that there are no new modifications, new powers or new weapons.

This is mostly in response to the proposed scenario in which Robin goes to Batman so they can whip up something against Kitty Pride. Nothing custom-made for the particular bout and no one pulls any previously-unknown powers out of their asses.

But any powers or weapons otherwise seen from the contestants on a regular basis are perfectly valid. Captain America gets his shield, Kitty Pride gets to phase between walls, Rorschach gets his grappling gun and Joker gets his joy buzzer, knives, acid-squirting flower and all the rest.

Side note: Another thread suggested Boba Fett vs. Deadpool. That's pretty cool, but how about Boba Fett vs. Iron Man (I'm thinking the Mark III suit from the movie, for clarity's sake)?

My bad

Well then rorschach would just shoot the joker in the chest with the grappling gun probably breakng/cracking a bunch of his ribs and at the very least knocking the wind out of him, allowing him to pounce... before the Joker can use any of his tricks

I can only imagine it's IM1 because IM2 had the Mark IV

And Mark V.

Sorry; the nerd in me had to say that.

I was leaning Rorschach anyway, and this was exactly the type of boiled down sequence I was looking for to push me over the edge. Thanks.

I kind of like Boba Fett vs. Deadpool more. Aside from the fact that they both can't fly, it feels like a more even match.

Plus, they're both mercenaries.

What about Iron Man vs. Green Lantern?

Or some other robot suit guy. I can't think of anyone.

I knew someone would take it that way. I meant that Deadpool can't fly, but Boba Fett can as opposed to both Iron Man and Boba being able to fly.

Bless you all for this wonderful topic.

Okay, this is a really, really tough one for me. We know that the Joker is smarter than Rorschach and Rorschach is the better fighter.....but Rorschach is very unstable mentally and I think the Joker could easily use that against him. Rorschach's black and white thinking makes it hard for him to adapt. But he also doesn't hesitate to kill, which puts the Joker at risk.

I think it comes down to circumstance. If you put them both in a small room with no way out and tell them to fight to the death, I believe Rorschach would win (or both of them would die). But if say, Joker suddenly went to NYC and went on a killing spee (even by himself) with Rorschach trying to hunt him down? Joker would win, simply because he would have time to unravel Rorschach mentally before the vigilante can get to him.

Anyway, when you say "who would win" I don't think of the "locked in a room" scene. No, I assume you mean an out of the blue fight if the two meet up in their world(s), having never fought before. I also think they'd have an entire city at their disposal. And though they can't use other people/weapons, that doesn't mean Joker can't kill a bunch of people himself to piss of Rorschach, hide different places, then when the time is right lure Rorschach into a trap.

So I vote Joker.

Joker's been able to get himself out of a locked room before. See Under The Red Hood for a more recent reference.

Well, we're talking about if they were in a basement fighting. Like in Fight Club.

Or in a closed arena, at least.
