The simpsons as watchmen....
Image

couldn't resist, I thinjk your picture is good and I agree with most of the choices, I'd take out ralph but i don't know who i'd replace him with. So kudos to you.

I hate the simpsons so I won't bother coming up with an alternate lineup.

there are 3 kinds of people that i will never get on with

1. those who hate the simpsons
2. those who hate the beatles
3. those who hate the godfather parts 1 and/or 2

these are the kinds of people i should not be whiskey-drunk around

no offence, but in my book not liking these are unforgiveable sins... and are because you are either pedantic, "counter culture" or weird... possibly emo also

I hate it more for the crappy merchendise and barts face being plastered on anything, it ruined it all for me. that and constantly being told that it's brilliant when there are so many better cartoons out there.
I love the beatles and i've never seen any of the godfather trilogy.l....oh well.

not to drag us off topic or anything :P

Thought this was a cool idea for a thread. Pretty much if you have any Watchmen fanart or photoshopped pictures post 'em here...

Alrighty, so I got really bored. I wouldn't quite want this as an official teaser poster (I feel the "Who Watches the Watchmen" should never been shown in full or used as a tagline) but I thought for a fan poster I'd be a neat idea.

What do you guys think? Also, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

Not bad at all, but it needs something...

How about a man in a trenchcoat and a fedora silhouetted against the wall?

That's an awesome idea for a poster, Sasso. It's very simple and it's very Watchmen. Only things I would recommend doing with it would be making the lettering a little brighter and maybe adding the website address at the bottom.

And all this time I thought boredom was just plain....boring. I like when you get bored, Sasso...very nice work....a shadow on the wall sounds like an excellent idea. The Hollis Mason picture makes me smile.....I can't stop 'captioning' it in my mind.....

It wouldn't make much sense, though.

The symbolism of that poster is trying to convey is that the chosen one would become the destroyer. Rorschach doesn't really destroy anything, and there's never anything "cataclysmic" about his downfall, really. I mean, there's no real signifigance about his child self.

Well, that wasn't really what I meant, anyhow.

I was trying to suggest a subtle kind of introduction to Rorschach. A shadowy sort of figure looking at this graffitti is very fitting for his character, I think.

I didn't mean to come off snobbish or rude.

the shadow of a man in a trenchcoat should cover the wordings "who watches the watchmen?". It'll be a direct ode that we never see the whole sentence in the GN and a cool hint of Rorshach. ;)
