I guess this is as good a time and place to talk about this, but who do you all here in your head when you read the book, (assuming you hear an actors voice)?

Rorschach - Kevin Bacon
Dan - Richard Dreyfus
Laurie - No actress in particular
Veidt - Guy Pearce
The Comedian - Clancy Brown
Jon - Billy Zane

Sally - Phylis Diller
Hollis - Jack Lemmon
Malcolm Long - Paul Winfield

I just make up my own voices, but the closest thing is that I picture Manhattan with a similar voice to Martian Manhunter's from the Justice League animated series.

Jackie Earle Haley? Really? :| 8-)

I guess I do sort of create my own voices too. My list of actors would be who I think most closely resembles what I hear in my head.

I could be incorrect, but was this promotional image supposed to be a reference to the Doug Roth interview at Karnak in the GN? It's a shame that Goode didn't wear this in any actual movie scene outside of the pre-release promotional materials, because it looks quite good...

If there is then it hasn't been released.

Oh wait, I get what you're saying. Yeah, there are the news stand scenes. And then that's it.

ohhh ok thats. I might just invest in it for the special features then because i already have the tales of the black freighter. But who knows it might be different as one whole experience.

Buy the UC, then watch the WCM Cut instead (when it's out). Honestly, just the addition of the Bernie's to the DC without the Black Freighter makes it the best version of the film.

Bumped into a fellow extra of mine on the set of Psych and he told me about a scene from the movie he was part of shooting but never made the final cut.

He's a fan of the novel and the film and thus has a good memories of his time on the movie. He was part of the boiling fat scene and the prison riot but wasn't featured so don't waste your time looking for him. But he did say that while on hand for those scenes they shot (and this wasn't connected to those scenes) interviews with the prisoners, asking them about masked vigilantes, etc.

Now this could have been for Under The Hood, it might even be on the doc as my memory of it is not 100%. I remember they talked to Big Figure.

Anyway, my buddy was asked the question and replied along the lines of: "The Comedian, Dr. Manhattan? What a joke!" Which has something of a deeper meaning when you think about it.

So barring my memory of Under The Hood, we can put these interviews on the list with the Comedian planting the flag, the Vietnam 51st State Reporter scene and the rest as sequences that were shot but not in the movie.

I wonder how long we'll wait for yet another DVD release as we've still yet to get one that has the trailers and TV spots included. It's coming, but when...

I'm back from the Supernatural shoot out at the WATCHMEN NY Street. It was a great day yesterday! The day played out to perfection! A late start time meant I could actually be wide awake for the day and that doesn't happen often. The weather was cool and comfortable and they wanted a Blue Collar look so I even had on comfortable clothes. Had about 8 hours to just stroll around the street, reliving memories of the filming and the folks I met as well as letting the movie play out in my mind. What a weird feeling to have a scene scrolling through the gray matter while STANDING in the spot the scene was shot. I got so caught up in it that I forgot the filming that was going on! Ha!

As to that, the episode was the 9th of the current season and it's called: "Clap Your Hands If You Believe" and I didn't get any major screen time. Actually, if not for the location, this would have been one of those how-do-I-stay-awake shoots.

Sadly, the set really looks like hell! They've slapped fresh paint on everything but time and weather have really done a job on what is, essentially, painted Styrofoam and plywood. Everything sags, the sidewalk grates and floors all give a little too much when you walk on them, large pieces of the buildings have fallen off and most of the buildings sag and lean. Plus the wood is rotting and portions of the set are sitting in several inches of water because the sewers are just for show. The set is just about done and the crew told me that the latest buzz is that developers want the site for high-rises as there are 2 malls surrounding the site and it's on a very busy street. So it looks like the end is nigh for the ol' WATCHMEN set. Soon, it will only live on screen. I'm glad I got to visit it one more time. What a great day!

Amazon has another of those phantom listings for a new Blu-Ray WATCHMEN release. March, 2011 and only $13.99

I wonder if it's time for another mega-set? Maybe one with the trailers and TV spots. Would love one with more footage.

Amazon had one of these ghost listings last year: March 2010 and nothing happened. Have to see if this actually is anything....

Don't tell me that man, I'm waiting for some stuff that supposedly comes out on March 2011, and if it doesn't come out, then god save Amazon from my wrath

Diane Lane is watching WATCHMEN to get ready for Superman!

Gotta love it!

In a recent interview she said she's been checking out Zack Snyder movies, "especially WATCHMEN", to get ready for her role as Superman's Earth mother.

Huh. Can't imagine how Watchmen has anything at all to do with Ma Kent, but good for her, I suppose.
