Respectfully agree. Oh, and the score also sucks.

Just to clarify, I'm not saying they're bad. I happen to have some of them on my playlist.

I know, but I still think they fit the movie really well.

I agree, It's quite unnecesary.

I think the problem with that scene is that the cop has Rorschach in plain sight, shoots, and Rorschach is still there for a moment. Unharmed.

Other than that, the only problem I have with the movie is the soundtrack (not the score). In my opinion, it doesn't fit certain scenes. Oh, and Matthew Goode was miscasted.

Jon Hamm for Ozy.

Blaspheming! Dude, it's a common sentiment the songs not working in the movie.

I'm usually against licensed soundtracks, but I thought it was quite good.

I can certainly enjoy Hendrix much more than another goddamn "epic orchestra".

I keep with my opinion. He would do a good Superman.

Better not let Brooklyn hear you say that. 8-)

I wouldn't be surprised if we see him in some type of comic book movie. Probably a comedy of some sorts, or maybe playing a retired super hero.

Hamm would have actually been a pretty good Comedian, certainly no better or worse than JDM, possibly no so much build-wise, or in body shape, but those things aren't really as important as ability to play a role.

In the event, Morgan went and wore foam rubber 'muscle suit' prosthetics to bulk up his chest, back, shoulders and upper arms anyway.

Watched this film recently and discovered I have more problems with it then I initially thought. Coming straight off from reading the book the 6th or 7th time I can't help but notice so many things I love left out.

Quite a few of the monogluges have been butchered or don't make sense in the context of the film without the entire reading. One of the most essential lines in the book that compltely defines The Comdians charahcter is taken out.

[" Blake is interesting. I have never met anyone so deliberatly amoral. He suits the climate here, the madness, the pointless butchery... As I come to understand vietnam and what it implies about the human condition, I also realize that few humans will permit themselves such an understanding. Blakes different. He understands perfectly...and he doesn't care."]

Synder is not one my of favorite directors. He has a knack for visuals but if it wasn't for the soucre material he would have nothing to work with, i.e Suckerpunch. He's just too into "Supercool fight scene superhero movie" to really nail what Watchmen is about.

I love the plot of watchmen... just as much as the themes that lie beneath it. So I'm grateful that they got that part down. Still... they had so much potential only to deliver a movie that could have been a lot better then it was.

Some other things that I dislike through numerous watches.

The Ending..I kinda like the "concept" better in the movie. But the execution is just flat out horrible. New York getting attacked at the end is what the whole book builds up too. The movie hold no power to that scene. They didn't even show bodies on the ground or anything.

Adrian is a total miscast and misreading of the character. Every time he comes on the screen it gets gloomy and it's pretty apparent that he killed Blake. Even though Adrian is just as much a sociopath as Rorschach is he still presents himself as a pretty well rounded human being up until the end of the novel. I honestly did not suspect him my first read through.

Scenes where Rorschach is in prison and the other prisoners taunting him... comes off as so campy and "Ohh lets make Rorschach a badass" These scenes could have easily been taken out to provide more depth and screen time towards The Psychiatrist side plot.

There are some other things to nag at but you get my point. I still like the film and enjoy watching it. My only hope is that they redo Watchmen someday and make a truer adaptation in terms of mood and themes.

Still 7/10
