DAT NUMBER 20

Yepp, there are plenty of Space Jockeys running about. Just got back from the cinema. Opened here on Friday.

7/10 from me. The script is a tad iffy. Bit confusing on the whole, really. Doesn't quite splice in to what we would expect from the evidence presented in the original Alien film. But then I suppose that was never the idea in the first place.

Great effects. Nods to earlier Alien films.

I remember being enthralled by the 1979 movie. Nothing like it had ever been seen before. Here we have higher tech on show (both on-screen and behind the camera) but without the visceral impact of the first film. I'll just have to show some patience and wait for some of you others to see it. There are some interesting details to discuss, you see.

Just got back from seeing it.


In short, everything about this movie should have been great, but was ultimately a disappointment in my opinion. The entire movie was predictable from the moment David put the drop into Halloway's drink.


Also, whoever said this isn't a prequel is a liar, unless we're getting a Prometheus 2 that continues on with the single goddamned first-generation Xenomorph and as to whether it dies or more Space Jockeys terraform other planets, that's bullshit.
