Kind of interesting, but the last part is a little like "Big deal." seeing as how it wasn't even a radioactive spider in the 2002 version.

Is he strong?
Listen bud,
He's got radioactive blood

Pretty good trailer !

Though honestly, I don't think I'll still have the same enthusiasm for Superhero movies after the big three respectively roll out credits.

I think the lizard arm punching through the window pretty much confirms that either what we've seen of the lizard is not the final mutation, or that there is definitely something bigger that perhaps he creates, no way does the humanoid lizard we have seen have hands that big.

Yeah, the knives bit was pretty great.

But I still could not care less about this whole "mystery of Spiderman's parents" crap that the trailers been focusing on.

what's wrong with it? if they are rehashing the origin, at least they are trying to tell a totally different story.

It's still an origin story, I mean, by now everyone and their seventh cat has seen at least four superhero movies that deal with the characters' origin stories, it seems like something unnecessary these days.

you mean, maybe they should do James Cameron style spider-man movie where he is already spider-man?

I think after the Raimi movies, they had 3 options, a) James Bond it, change the actor and the tone, keep some things the same but make something new, b) keep everything already set up and just change the cast or c) reboot it completely, origin and all.

I think a, which is what you are suggesting, is the option with the biggest risk/reward, since it gets the basics out of the way, and just gets on with it, but it's risky because it might confuse people.

b would have been interesting, seen how a different director and cast took on the same characters, this is basically what Feige suggests will happen when they need to recast the MCU, but since Spider-man is just on his own in his universe, there's no reason for Sony to have done that, also it means that Norman Osborn, Doc Ock and Harry Osborn are all already dead, and they are pretty important characters.

but they chose c, which is the safest bet, and execs love money so that's what they chose.

So there are around ten clips released online at this point and, I've gotta say, this movie is looking really goddamn good.
