In all seriousness, the difference between both isn't so extreme. I like the taste of the mexican one better, but it depends on what mood I'm in. I don't like Coca-Cola all that much, though, I prefer Pepsi and even then, prefer Dr. Pepper or Sprite or 7UP or Mountain Dew over Pepsi. And over soda, I prefer juices or tea.
It could be that I was just expecting something else, since so many people say "it's sooo much better!". But it could also be that the majority of people I've seen/read talking about Mexican Coke are American. I think there might be a slight difference between American Coke and Canadian Coke, so I don't know how American Coke really stacks up against the Mexican kind. I've also seen people say Mexican Coke is sweeter, but I honestly didn't notice it to be particularly sweet, and you also have some people say it's less sweet. I think the fact Mexican Coke comes in glass bottles also might influence people's taste buds, as it suggest a return back to a simpler time, that this is the good stuff. In North America, it generally comes in cans or plastic bottles, although you can buy smallish bottles of it.
I used to like Pepsi back in the day when it came in tall, glass bottles. Over the years, though, the flavor changed. Now, anytime I have a Pepsi, I notice it being sweeter than Coke, but to the point where it almost reminds me of cough syrup. I did try Pepsi Throwback, though, and I find it is closer to how I remember Pepsi tasting. Not really sweet, but with a smoother taste.

I really really miss Vanilla Coke.
Anyone remember vanilla Coke?
I do. I remember buying a bottle when it came out, and after three or four sips, regretting buying it. It's not that it was terrible, just that it was the kind of thing you probably had to have a taste for. I think I sometimes still see it in stores.
