Display other Alan Moore stuff alongside Watchmen? Y'know, V for Vendetta, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, etc.
Thanks for the suggestion TVM -- pretty much any time Moore comes out with something new or I make any display even tangentially connected to comics (and there's been a lot of them lately...), I make sure at least *something* by Moore gets a featured spot on it, so that's always a given. Last year, I made an awesome three-tiered LoEG:Black Dossier display that featured the LoEG graphic novels and film (I know, the movie's awful, but at least it gave regular folks a point of reference...), other works by Moore (specifically From Hell, VfV, and Watchmen), and a couple of rows of classic literary works that were referenced in Black Dossier.
I guess I'm thinking primarily about building displays that really reach out beyond the fanboys and boho intellectuals who gather online, to people who might pick it up just because it's on the best-seller shelf. There's actually a lot of people who confine their book purchases only to things they see on the best-sellers, so I figure if somebody who might ordinarily pick up Stephen King or Clive Cussler (or even more literary writers like Khaled Hosseini or Ken Follett) picks up Watchmen, we might need to do a little bit of outreach to guide them to other great works of graphic fiction that they might have otherwise been unaware of. Anyway, just thinking out loud...
