Just saw Alan Moore on the Simpsons. It had a funny scene with Milhouse;

"Alan Moore! Will you sign my copy of Watchmen Babies?". Holds up book with cute cartoony versions of Doctor Manhattan and Rorschach.

Did Moore's character say anything? If so, was it HIS voice?

Yeah, it was his voice. Art Spiegelman and the creater (whose name I forget) of Ghost World were also in it. I missed the opening minutes, but when I tuned in Bart and Lisa were at a new comic book store. Moore was signing autographs. I wish I could remember the exact dialogue, but Bart asked him to sign his Radio Active Man book, which leads to Moore talking about his work on Batman, and doubting Bart actually reading it. Bart tells him he doesn't read the comics, he just looks at the pictures. Milhouse asking him to sign his Muppet Babies style Watchmen book pushes Moore over the edge, and he goes on a rant before Spiegelman calms him down. He then goes onto read Little Lulu to himself, while singing a Little Lulu song.

There's more, involving Moore taking his shirt off to reveal an incredible physique while he gets into a fight with Comic Book Guy. I'm sure someone will put the scene on youtube, as I can't remember exactly how it all went. It was all pretty random.

I want DD e-mailed the instant that YouTube clip goes up. That clip needs to go in the Gunga Diner section immediately.

I have the clip and am in the process of posting it to YouTube, but we'll see just how long it stays there, since it's in flagrant violation of their policy on copyrighted material.

LOL! :D That really made my day.

Greatly appreciated, Aaron. Welcome to the board.

I'll send the link to DD at once.

Great appearance overall. So weird, 20 years later the world is learning how amazing Watchman is.

OK, guys, this is on the main site. I'm not going to put it in the Gunga Diner section because I know Fox will kill this video soon. I took screenshots for when that happens. I watched the show live yesterday and was praying for a Watchmen reference. I was very pleased. :lol:

That was the first time in a long while that I watched a new Simpsons episode. I freaked out when Alan was on...it just made my night.

Yep, it was his real voice. He was in the credits.

Heh heh, sweet!

Leave it to Milhouse to have a Watchmen Babies DVD.

"Which of the babies is your favourite?"

Yeah, I'd like to see a parody of it. Perhaps I'll create one.

So, Matt Groening went and succeeded where Zack Snyder never will: getting Alan Moore's name added to his little project. Homage vs. Damage, I guess. In the immortal words of a certain Master Muntz -

How many others have had the birthday present of a Simpsons appearance, I wonder? Many happy returns for yesterday, Mr Moore.
