So after the 4 books have been released and everyone's had time to digest them, which of the 4 are you favorites?

Watching The Watchmen
Watchmen: The Film Companion
Watchmen: The Art of The Film
Watchmen: Portraits

For me, after seeing all 4, I must say Watchmen: Portraits takes the cake easily for me. The other 3 are great but I've never seen a Black and White Photography tie-in book released for any 1 movie, lt alone a Photo Book as gorgeous as this one. Each photo is supremely detailed and there's plenty to draw from each one. not to mention each set of 2 photos, were paired with each one for a certain reason, whether it be a linkage via the GN/Movie or composition link or an interesting juxtaposition (A Knot-Top Photo paired with a SWAT Cop Photo)

I should add, When I'm not talking Watchmen, I'm a Photographer in my daily life, studying and doing gigs like concerts and weddings. Black and White > Color, so naturally, I'm loving the shit out of this book.

What's Your favorite Titan Book?

EDIT: Fix'd

The Art of the Film. I love artbooks and this one is no exception. Love the shots of the Minutemen and the detailed information on the sets and stuff.

I only have Watching The Watchmen and I love it. Plus it's the limited one signed by Gibbons.

This is a hard one because I love all three books, plus Watching the Watchmen.

I enjoyed Film Companion the most. It's the one that basically says everything I love about the book and
(subsequently) the film. Although Art of the Film is beautiful, Film Companion, I felt, has the wider variety of photographs and better organised; the synopses amuse me thoroughly. It's everything I need in one book and, out of all the books, it's travel-sized for my convenience! I take this book everywhere!

But out of pure "superority", Portraits would win. It's the most unique of all the books. When do you get a black-and-white photography book issued about a film nowadays, NEVER! It's very "in your face" and, somehow, it really touches into my senses: I could see the pain behind the eyes, feel their skin and hair, smell the leather, sweat, and cheap booze. Great book! I still don't own it! I want to though!

In order of favourites:
1. Film Companion
2. Portraits
3. Art of the Film and Watching the Watchmen: Diamond Edition (TIE!)
4. Watchmen and Philosophy

I don't own any of the books at the moment, but having had a look in Borders I am most interested in Art of the Film. However, Watching the Watchmen would probably be my preference, as it is about the GN.

The Film Companion, hands down. It's very rare to find something about the movie that I don't know already, yet I learned something new the first time I skimmed through this book.

It's the ideal mix of pictures and information. Not a boring page or caption in the bunch.

If you really wish to, try Amazon.com. They're selling this monster for about $32 total. Pretty good considering the reg. price is $50.

For the matter, I own The Film Companion and it's nifty as well. No Art of The Film...Yet. But I xcan say at some point I'm buying that sucker for sure too. :D

I have the Film Companion and Watching the Watchmen.

I kind of like them both the same, the film companion does a great job on expanding on the new aspects film's story of course, and Watching the Watchmen gives a great behind the scenes look of the making of the GN.

Hope to get Portraits and Art of the Film one day as well.

I would say Watching the Watchmen is my favourite, mainly because its about the graphic novel and its great to have some more information on the making of the book.

i have only those 2 aswell. and i would say i like both of them pretty equally watching the watchmen slightly more for quality, although the film companion does well in my eyes as i have been into the movies and the making of movies longer than i have been into comics/GNs, although they both do pretty much the same job for their respective medium, which is to go behind the final product and to show you where it all came from. and i like that aspect.

Went and had a look at the portraits book today and I have to say it is very unique, and the pictures are excellent, but I want a bit more in a book like some text or something. Just a collection of back and White photos for £25 is too much for me, its a lovely gift but I wouldn't buy it for myself.

yeah that's why i didn't get it, i figured the film companion was not only the cheapest of the 3 books but probably had the most content in the sense that you could learn something by reading it, i wasn't too bothered about spending the better part of £40 on 2 books that were mostly pictures.

Hey guys!

I'm not sure if this is allowed, or not... sorry if I'm breaking a rule.

Anyway, I bought three of the movie tie-in books a few months ago. Watchmen Portraits, Art of the Film, and The Official Film Companion.

These are awesome books, but I can't afford to keep them right now. I'm selling them on Amazon.ca
If you're interested, or you know someone who's interested, please check it out! I ship to both Canada and the US. :)

Mine is the film companion because it's a nice balance between information and pictures. I have all of the books released.
