Empire Online has posted two covers of their new issue of Empire, which features an article highlighting their Watchmen set visit. They have also posted four exclusive images of The Comedian, Rorschach (which is a frame of the footage seen at the 2008 Comic Con in San Diego), Silke Spectre II and Nite Owl, and Nite Owl in front of his Owlship.

Courtesy of AICN, here is Carla Gugino as Sally Jupiter, aka the first Silk Spectre, drawn as an Alberto Vargas-style pinup girl. The image can be seen hanging on the wall in Edward Blake’s as well as Hollis Masons’ apartment in both the trailer and some of the previously released video journals. Hubba, hubba!

The Watchmen characters made it onto the July 25th issue of Entertainment Weekly. Here is the cover image from that issue as well as the photos that accompanied their Watchmen movie article. The photos show, Nite Owl II and Silk Spectre II fighting through a prison riot, the accident that turned Jon Osterman into Dr. Manhattan, A young Eddie Blake and Silk Spectre I, Rorschach, and The Comedian in a bar in Vietnam.

Here is a visual comparison the Minutemen photo released by Warner Bros. and images of the same photo from panels of comic book. You can see that the art department has virtually duplicated the photo from the comic in every detail from the order of the lineup and even the poses and facial expressions of the heroes. For more insight on the characters represented in this photo, read our Minutemen photo news article.

Here are some side-by-side comparisons of panels in the comic book to official costume photos released by the production. I have also included a panel comparison of the Rorschach still frame that was released in February 2008. For more insight on these photos, read our costume photos news article and our Rorschach still frame article.
